Van 15 tot 18 februari 2018 ging ik, samen met 2 vrienden (Kris en Pascal), naar Hongarije met één doel : arenden fotograferen op de Hongaarse "puszta".
From 15 to 18 February 2018 I went to Hungary with 2 friends and one goal : photographing eagles on the Hungarian "puszta".

In de "arendhut" kregen we regelmatig het bezoek van 2 verschillende keizerarenden (Aquila heliaca). Af en toe namen ze een hapje van een dode vos (Vulpes vulpes).
In the "eagle hide" we were regularly visited by 2 different imperial eagles (Aquila heliaca). Occasionally they took a bite of a dead fox (Vulpes vulpes)

We kregen ook een heel kort bezoek van een zeearend (Haliaeetus albicilla).
We also had a very short visit of a White-tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla).
Verder waren er vele buizerds (Buteo buteo) aanwezig, soms tot wel 12 stuks tegelijk.
There were also many buzzards (Buteo buteo), sometimes 12 at the same time.
Eksters (Pica pica), bonte kraai (Corvus cornix) en een raaf (Corvus corax) waren ook van de partij.
Magpies (Pica pica), hooded crows (Corvus cornix) and a ravon (Corvus corax) were also present.
Tijdens een kort bezoek aan de "appelvinkhut" konden we de appelvink (Coccothraustes coccothraustes), ringmus (Passer montanus) en keep (Fringilla montifringilla) vastleggen tijdens een sneeuwbuitje.
During a short visit to the "hawfinchhide" we were able to photograph hawfinch (Coccothraustes coccothraustes), tree sparrow (Passer montanus) and brambling (Fringilla montifringilla) during a snowy morning.
In het centrum van het dorpje Kisújszállás telden we ongeveer 80 ransuilen (Asio otus) op hun roestplaats overdag.
In the centre of the village Kisújszállás we could find around 80 long eared owls (Asio otus) at their roosting place during the day.
